Beers, Part Eleven

We've reached 30, and the things are starting to get rounded up, since there's only one day left...

Beers, Part Ten

Manchester is a good beer place, so the count is now 29. Helps to have a native guide who knows a where to go, though.

28.6.05

Beers, Part Nine

Twenty-two. A shame the pubs in this village close at 2300...

And having no hard drive is boring.

27.6.05

Beers, Part Eight

Counter: 21. And still a few left to try.

Update on Toy's condition... Since the corruption has reached certain games, I've stopped using Windows, and the hard drive, completely. And am thanking carrot for having enough foresight to bring the Ubuntu live CD with me.

Beers, Part Seven

Oh, and I forgot. Another place to visit in Holmes Chapel. The Swan. A real, traditional English pub.

R.I.P.

Toy's hard drive is dying. It's not quite dead yet, but it's getting there. Grr.

The moral of this story, children, and this is very important, is this: never keep your data where Windows wants to keep it.

Beers, Part Six

Nineteen. Might go up a bit before the night is over, too.

25.6.05

Beers, Part Five

Fifteen. To be increased shortly.

24.6.05

Beers, Part Four

Twelve. We're picking up the pace.

22.6.05

Beers, Part Three

The count is now ten.

20.6.05

Beers, Part Two

George and Dragon pub in Holmes Chapel. A place to visit.

18.6.05

Beers, Part One

Adnams Broadside. Very nice.

17.6.05

Away, Away, Away in Space

The Toy is in another time zone!

15.6.05

Realizations

Vacation time!

And the first thing I need to do when I come back is buy a new car. Either that, or I have to have the oil in the old one changed, so I can drive myself to the second part of my vacation in an oven.

14.6.05

Red

I'm red again. Haven't been red since... Well, since I last took a few days off and went somewhere. And it is a pure coincidence.

13.6.05

The Hardware of the Future!

Made to be unreliable! Because the manufacturers want you to buy more and more, more and more often!

12.6.05

The Last Weekend

Before the vacation, that is. I do wish I didn't have to go to work tomorrow, though...

11.6.05

Wow...

What two days...

8.6.05

Meh...

I also need to update the Memos of Note thingie...

What a Day...

It's been such a good day, I feel almost smug. If it only was Friday, and a sunny and warm one...

Makes me wonder, though... What is going to go wrong tomorrow?

7.6.05

I Feel...

...unreal. Out of the time.

Interesting.

6.6.05

Pressure Dropping

And I'm dropping with it. Thank carrot for all the new fishy goodies I have in my fridge now... And yes, hot-dogs, too.

5.6.05

I Wish...

For world peace? No. What the fuck is the world peace? Do I look like a Miss World contestant to you? I don't want an end to hunger and disease. That would mean an end to life. It's all about balance, and humans seem to have forgotten that the balance of life is dynamic.

Anyway... I wish I had some hot-dogs. I feel like eating mustard again.

4.6.05

T

Just reading this makes me feel oppressed. Who writes these things?

3.6.05

Now There Are Three

I've obviously been listening commercials on the radio too much lately... But we do have three fixed phone providers now, and I've decided to take a look at what they're offering. Maybe make some sort of change, since I really don't use the voice service that much. And I've come to an expected, but nonetheless galling conclusion: if a Croatian telecom company can make their services (and the way they are charged) more difficult to understand, they will. This is valid for all of them. I want to spit on somebody now.

I really wish I could be some sort of self-sufficient high-tech hermit somewhere where there aren't any stupid governments and greedy, deceiving corporations...

2.6.05

Strawberries

I had some today, after so long a time... Since they weren't the plastic Dutch ones, they had all the proper taste and smell, and were quite enjoyable.

1.6.05

Wha?

I had something in mind. Then I forgot. Maybe I'll remember later...
