Americans and Their Toilets
What is such a big deal with putting down the toilet seat? Is it even a big deal, or is it just something the popular (read: American) culture has blown out of all proportions, like the difficulty of operating a VCR? Whatever it is, is it enough to warrant a toilet which puts the seat down on its own?

I think what it is is women are more rushed to get to the bathroom and dont have the time to check if its down. If it's not down, they fall in. This has resulted in many broken relationships.
